This is almost surreal. Porsche’s new-car launch happened to coincide with Tesla’s Roadster launch. It was completely overshadowed, and hardly anyone paid attention. Porsche must be feeling pretty crushed.
So what car did Porsche unveil? The Mission S. It’s a top-tier mid-engined supercar positioned above the 911, and it looks seriously gorgeous in the pictures. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 to 2.8 seconds—about as fast as a Ferrari. I think it even looks better than a Ferrari.
After seeing it, I was rooted to the spot. I don’t want to save up for a Ferrari anymore—I want to save up for a Mission S instead.
The big question: how much does it cost? $500,000. It’s extremely expensive, even a little pricier than a Ferrari.
