#Ethereum liquidations hit $292 million as $2,300 becomes the line to defend

Ethereum has taken a harder hit than the broader market in recent days.
Its price is hovering around $2,375.
It fell 1.93% in a single day.
It has underperformed Bitcoin for several days in a row.

Liquidations have been heavily concentrated.
Around $292 million worth of Ethereum positions were liquidated in 24 hours.
Long positions accounted for 92% of them.

Money is also flowing out.
Spot Ethereum ETFs saw net outflows of $129.5 million on October 14.
On one side, leveraged longs are being liquidated; on the other, ETFs are trimming their positions.

Why is this happening?
Open interest in Ethereum futures is high.
When macro conditions tighten, its losses can easily deepen.
Long positions are crowded together, so liquidations can cascade.

The $2,300 level is now a psychological threshold for bulls.
Hold it, and the market can consolidate sideways.
Lose it, and another round of leveraged positions could be flushed out below.
After liquidations, positions are forced to shrink.
The staking front, however, remains steady.
Bullish traders’ patience is wearing thin.

In crypto, crowded leverage is more worth watching than price itself.
