【This part of history feels a lot like the present】

At the end of 2019, BTC plunged from 14,000 to 6,500 and spent a full three months grinding lower. Everyone said it was over, that the market was dead. And what happened next? We all remember the story after the 2020 halving.

BNB feels just like that now.

It’s fallen nearly halfway from its ATH, trading volume has dried up to the point where nobody wants to make a move, and the Fear & Greed Index is stuck at 63—not greedy, but not fearful either. This is the hardest kind of market to sit through: a directional move is getting closer, but the market just keeps moving sideways.

Last week, I said BNB would make a directional move around this level. Looking at it now, it still hasn’t picked a direction—but it has worn down everyone’s patience.

What’s interesting is that the weekly average FNG is 61, which suggests market sentiment isn’t actually bad. Everyone’s waiting—but for what? A signal from BTC, a signal from the macro environment, or a reason compelling enough to make a decision.

Honestly, I’m watching this level myself. Support is at 698.4 and resistance at 749.06, and the range is getting narrower. I’m not going to guess which way it breaks, but I’ll be watching volume—a genuine breakout needs volume behind it. Breakouts without volume are bogus.

From a business perspective, the BNB ecosystem is still there, and Binance’s fundamentals haven’t collapsed. At this level, long-term investors are slowly building positions while short-term traders are sitting on the sidelines. That’s not a bad thing in itself. The problem is that many people are neither long-term investors nor short-term traders—they’re just stuck in the market, waiting.

Next week, there are two key things to watch: first, whether BTC can hold steady; second, whether BNB can bring in significant volume. If BTC can’t hold or BNB can’t attract volume, then the market will keep grinding sideways. If volume comes in, follow the move.

My view hasn’t changed this week—I still believe that this isn’t a good level for frequent trading. It’s a good time to watch.

How long do you think this consolidation will last? I’m leaning toward at least another one to two weeks, but I could be wrong.
