Tesla Opens Roadster Reservations
Tesla’s official US and China websites have opened Roadster reservations simultaneously. In the US, the Performance version requires a $50,000 reservation deposit and the Thrust version $250,000, with $5,000 due upfront and the balance payable within 10 days. In China, only the Performance version is available, with a reservation deposit of RMB 332,000. The money goes into the automaker’s order pool; it has no direct channel to exchange funds.
Keep an eye on the roughly 9,720 BTC on Tesla’s balance sheet, as well as the emotional pull of Musk-related narratives. Large deposits tie up high-net-worth cash but won’t drain crypto liquidity in the short term. The key level remains the 110,000 mark: if it holds, the market could consolidate on a pullback before trying the previous high again. If it breaks, perpetual funding rates may turn negative and longs could be forced to reduce positions, bringing a pullback toward 105,000. Follow the broader market. It has less upside sensitivity than BTC, so going long is less attractive than waiting for BTC to confirm its direction.
This is only a sentiment-driven blip. The Rocket version is invite-only, and no new buying has materialized—don’t chase the spike.
Those of you holding BTC, what’s your cost basis? Would you dare to place a bid at this 110,000 level?
