Night Owl Report:
DeFi protocols in 24 hours: collecting fees
Me in 24 hours: paying fees
Here’s the leaderboard (only protocols whose tokens are tradable on Binance):
$HYPE Hyperliquid | $3.46 million
$PUMP Pump | $2.01 million
$SKY Sky | $434,000
WLFI World Liberty Financial | $394,000
AERO Aerodrome | $328,000
At the top: $HYPE Hyperliquid, with $3.46 million; all five together made $6.63 million. I did the math, and I’m probably one protocol and a bunch of fee-paying users away from making the list.
I’ve also noticed a pattern: the most consistent beneficiaries of frequent trading usually aren’t me—they’re the protocols. So lately, I’ve been trading less. The results so far: lower fees and more sleep.
Jokes aside, here’s the serious bit: protocol revenue and token prices are separated by tokenomics. Don’t treat them as one and the same.
