🤯 Approximately $90 MILLION stolen using tampered Ledger wallets!

This is probably the most striking news of the day.

Criminals reportedly bought genuine Ledger devices, opened some of them, and installed hidden components capable of capturing recovery phrases during setup. The devices were then redistributed through a Southeast Asian seller.

The result: approximately $90 million in cryptocurrency stolen.

Ledger has stated that its internal systems were not compromised; the attack reportedly occurred in the supply chain.

This changes an assumption many users have:

A hardware wallet can be very secure against online attacks, but that doesn’t mean every device bought outside the proper channels is safe.

🔐 Would you still trust a hardware wallet if you discovered the attack happened before the device reached your hands?
