Musk has another big announcement! Tesla says its new Roadster can go from 0 to 100 km/h in under a second, but mass production won't begin until 2028.
On October 15, Tesla showcased the second-generation Roadster, demonstrating a special maneuver using a compressed-air propulsion system. The car is equipped with 10 thrusters. All three versions have a range of 300 miles, and a top speed of over 230 mph.
But the delivery timeline is more important than the flashy demonstration. The car first debuted in 2017 and was originally slated for delivery in 2020. Now, mass production has been pushed back to 2028. A technology demonstration is only the first step; the real test is whether Tesla can begin production on schedule, control costs, and deliver on the car's performance claims.
Musk's product launches always attract attention, but market buzz doesn't equal commercial success. Ultimately, investors will be looking at orders, deliveries, and actual profitability.
Do you think the Roadster will live up to its promises this time, or has it once again set expectations too high?
