Binance.US is reportedly seeking a valuation of around $1 billion and up to $100 million in funding—a far cry from its $4.5 billion pre-money valuation in the 2022 round.

U.S. licensing, market share, and compliance costs all factor in. The same brand can have a completely different valuation story in different jurisdictions.

When I was taking a compliance course in Singapore, I realized that exchange valuations are about “who they can legally take money from,” not how recognizable their logo is.

Do you think this is a reasonable discount, or is the market overly pessimistic?
Reply 1: Reasonable—the U.S. is expensive
Reply 2: Undervalued—it can bounce back
Reply 3: Hard to say—let’s see how the funding round turns out
