The propAMM DEX Metric has officially launched.
1/ A few basics
▌The former Director of Engineering at Uniswap is serving as CTO.
The protocol’s current TVL is just $4.99M, so it’s still at a very early stage.
2/ How is it different from traditional AMMs?
Traditional AMMs adjust prices passively. When the pool price deviates from the market price, it takes arbitrageurs stepping in to trade to bring it back in line.
Metric takes a different approach:
▌It uses an oracle to fetch a market reference price directly;
▌Liquidity adjusts dynamically with the price instead of being fixed along a constant-product curve;
▌Market makers can set custom quotes around the reference price, giving them more control.
This mechanism is naturally better suited to assets with clear external price anchors: tokenized stocks, stablecoins, and major crypto assets like BTC and ETH.
You could say that from day one, Metric has had a clear goal: bringing real-world market prices for stocks, forex, and gold directly on-chain.
