Ledger launches Atom, a new Android-powered crypto security device
Ledger officially unveiled Atom, a new hardware security device, at its Op3n conference in Paris. The launch comes after an attack on its hardware wallets reportedly resulted in losses of around $93 million, and represents the company’s new security solution.
Atom runs on Android, combining everyday apps with hardware-level transaction approvals and adding tamper-resistant protection. Preorders are now open, with delivery expected in 2027.
The company also said its investigation into devices previously found to contain malicious components is ongoing, and reminded users of the risks associated with third-party resellers.
