In Q3, it rose about 44%, climbing from 58,500 to around 86,000—the strongest Q3 in nine years.

The main driver was a return of ETF inflows: a net $6.34 billion over three months, including $3.52 billion in August alone. BlackRock and Fidelity products attracted the bulk of the money, and the total assets of U.S. spot BTC ETFs have now topped $100 billion, with cumulative net inflows nearing $57 billion.

Interestingly, October got off to a weaker start. After inflation data came in hotter than expected, ETFs saw net outflows of more than $500 million last week, and BTC slipped back to around 82,000. Historically, October has closed higher in 9 of the past 11 years, but Q4 last year saw a drop of over 20%. Seasonality is something to consider, not something to bank on.
