Mastercard spent $1.8 billion to acquire BVNK, and now it’s plugging its stablecoin clearing capabilities straight into the card network. The new platform is called Global Money Platform. Banks, fintech companies, and businesses can hold, convert, and spend fiat and stablecoins through a single API. Nuvei and Marqeta are among the first to join, with agentic commerce on the horizon.

This stablecoin move isn’t about getting on-chain—it’s about getting on cards. The card network itself becomes the clearing layer, erasing the friction between on-chain balances and bank accounts.

I’ve been watching these numbers for a while: USDC’s 24-hour trading volume is $3.9 billion, more than double BTC’s $1.8 billion. The market is making its position pretty clear.

So whose API will be brought into the fold next?$USDC $BTC
