U.S. Midterm Elections: What Really Determines a Crypto Bull Market Is the Battle Over Congressional Power and Capital Flows.

The U.S. midterm elections on November 3 will be an important event for markets to watch.

If Congress is divided, budget negotiations, the debt ceiling, and crypto regulatory legislation could face more gridlock. For markets, this could increase short-term uncertainty while also reshaping medium- and long-term policy expectations.

But what really matters are three channels of transmission:

First, U.S. Treasuries and the dollar. If fiscal disputes push long-term yields higher, capital may continue favoring dollar-denominated assets, weighing on crypto valuations. If yields fall, risk assets may finally get some breathing room.

Second, crypto regulation. Changes in control of Congress could affect the direction of regulatory legislation and oversight hearings. For ETH, regulatory expectations and institutional participation are especially important.

Third, liquidity. The election itself will not automatically bring looser monetary conditions. A sustained rally is more likely only when interest rate expectations, the dollar's trajectory, and capital flows move in sync.

My view: Don't bet everything on the election outcome. Instead, watch whether Treasury yields, the dollar, and crypto fund flows all improve together after the results are announced.

Politics shapes expectations; liquidity determines how far a rally can go.
