Musk talks up e-commerce, and DOGE jumps first

On October 15, Musk responded on X to Amazon blocking Grok from placing orders, saying outright, “Maybe we should start a company to compete with Amazon.” The point isn’t e-commerce itself, but the payment and clearing rails for X Money. Orders placed on the platform would have to settle on-chain—that’s what crypto investors are watching.

The market outlook is clear. Each spike in Musk-narrative coins like DOGE has peaked lower than the last. There’s been no sign of major on-chain addresses adding to their holdings; open interest in futures contracts dissipates as soon as it surges, and spot-market depth is too thin. A price spike is an opportunity to reduce your position. On a pullback, watch whether the support at the previous low holds; if it doesn’t, the price could head straight back to the bottom of the range and grind there. This news won’t move BTC or ETH. Investors are still waiting on macroeconomic data, and one tweet won’t change the trend. For short-term traders chasing DOGE, the risk outweighs the potential reward.

For those of you holding DOGE, what’s your cost basis? Now that it’s rallied, would you dare to sell—or buy more?
