① Layer 2 networks are scaling networks built on top of the Ethereum mainnet. They process transactions off-chain, then write the data back to the mainnet.
② In March 2024, Ethereum’s Dencun upgrade introduced blob data (EIP-4844), significantly reducing the cost of Layer 2 networks submitting data to the mainnet.
③ When depositing or withdrawing, make sure you confirm which network you’re using: assets at the same address on different networks are separate.
