Porsche Chief Executive Officer Michael Leiters told Bloomberg’s Matt Miller at a world premiere in Queens that the company’s new sports car will launch as a distinct model line positioned well above the 911, according to Bloomberg.

Leiters said the mid-engine platform is designed to support several variants and is flexible enough for either hybrid or combustion-only powertrains. The two spoke on "The Close."
