According to CNBC, Porsche on Thursday unveiled the Mission S concept car, a midengine model that signals a new design direction and a flagship vehicle for the Volkswagen-controlled sports carmaker. Porsche said the concept offers a first look at its evolved design identity and a super sports car platform that will sit above the 911, while the company did not disclose pricing or performance specifications for future models. The reveal comes after Porsche outlined a turnaround plan last week that aims to lift profits through higher-end products and lower vehicle sales. Porsche Chairman Michael Leiters said the Mission S gives a glimpse of the design features that will shape the brand in coming years. The company said its current 911 lineup starts at about $135,500 for an entry-level Carrera and rises to more than $203,000 for a Carrera 4 GTS convertible. Porsche also said its operating margin was 1.1% last year, compared with 14.1% in 2024, and that its turnaround plan targets a long-term group operating margin of 15% and a midterm breakeven point of 200,000 units or below annually, versus sales of 279,449 in 2025.
