Netanyahu has made it clear that he will not attack Iran before the election, further confirming earlier speculation that the military pressure on Iran was a choice made to help Netanyahu win the election. Of course, in the short term, this is good news for the U.S.-Iran situation.

The U.S. Department of Energy is considering temporarily suspending sanctions on the “shadow fleet” in order to ease pressure on global energy supplies. Meanwhile, after the International Energy Agency initially announced the release of 20 million barrels of oil, the U.S. questioned the amount, saying it was insufficient and calling for the release of 100 million barrels of crude.

These two developments clearly indicate that the U.S. remains concerned about global energy supplies. Whether it is the earlier agreement with Russia or the current call for the IEA to accelerate crude releases, the underlying concern is the impact of high oil prices.

According to media reports, satellite images and radar data show that Iran’s earlier attacks on energy facilities in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere were planned, with the aim of destroying energy export routes outside the Strait of Hormuz. So far, the plan appears to have succeeded. Data from multiple sources suggests that alternative shipping routes to the Strait of Hormuz are unlikely to be viable.

Looking at the overall situation and oil price trends, tensions have eased somewhat in the short term. Although Brent prices have fallen, they have not dropped out of the danger zone. Notably, WTI crude prices in the U.S. have continued to rise, clearly indicating that energy supplies in the U.S. market are tighter than in the international market. If this price trend continues, Trump will face even greater pressure at home.

So, if Trump comes under greater political and electoral pressure from rising crude oil prices, could Netanyahu’s election victory on October 27 become an opportunity for the U.S. and Iran? For now, it seems possible. But before then, the world will still have to endure the many adverse effects of high oil prices!#沃什推动缩减前瞻指引和点阵图
