A few casual thoughts before the US market opens
There’s no new narrative in US stocks today, just percentage moves.
Today I’m not guessing levels, just looking at the numbers that are already in.
Gold 4,192 (5-day +0.03%, Yahoo)
VIX 16.46 (5-day +10.92%)
Transmission: 10-year yield 5.09%, down -2.96% over 5 days. Rates are moving lower, giving risk assets a window—but what matters is whether it lasts, not just one daily candle.
BTC 82380, 24h volume $1.83 billion. ETH/BTC 0.02988. ETH +1.47% is outperforming BTC +0.62%, with the exchange rate at 0.02988. This looks more like risk appetite spilling over, rather than BTC going it alone.
Looking ahead: VIX is now 16.46. If it gets above 18, I’ll cut my futures position in half. I’m not going to argue with the US stock market’s closing price.
My positions: I only buy pullbacks, not breakouts. If the structure holds, I can keep a core position; adding requires waiting for a pullback level.
Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. I won’t fill in missing numbers.
When memes aren’t outperforming BTC, are you still holding them?

Useful fact: Market cap = price × circulating supply. Treating the market cap of fully locked tokens as trading depth can cost you.
Takeaway: The top meme coin failed to outperform BTC +2%: treat it as volatility, not a sector.
