U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has called for sweeping reforms at the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, aligned with the priorities of President Donald Trump’s administration.
These include allowing the financing of oil and gas exploration and production projects, as well as supporting deep-sea mining and developing procurement policies.
