bStocks: three figures worth reading separately
On October 15, Binance announced that bStocks had surpassed $1 billion in assets under management about four months after launch.
There are two other figures alongside this news. Each answers a different question.
More than $1 billion — the assets under management as of the announcement date. This is AUM: a measure of the product’s size.
$6 billion — the total amount converted between direct stock positions and bStocks, in both directions, since launch on June 11.
More than $40 billion — the cumulative trading volume of bStocks over the same period.
The same capital can be involved in many trades and conversions. So these figures shouldn’t be added together. Trading volume isn’t the same as new investment, and the size of assets doesn’t show an investor’s returns.
What I find interesting here is the range of use cases: trading, transferring tokens to your own wallet, or using supported bStocks as collateral. Borrowing introduces additional risks, including liquidation.
Are you more interested in bStocks for trading or for use in DeFi?
Data: Binance announcement dated 15.10.2026.
bStocks do not provide direct ownership of stocks. Availability depends on jurisdiction.
