Same coin—why do different data sites show different circulating supplies?
Circulating supply refers to the number of tokens currently available for free trading on the market, excluding any tokens that are still locked.
Don’t judge whether a coin is expensive just by its unit price. Its market cap, calculated by multiplying the unit price by the circulating supply, is more useful for comparison.
The maximum supply of $BTC is fixed at 21 million coins, and the number mined is gradually approaching that limit. Currently: 82086.
If there’s anything I haven’t covered, let’s discuss it in the comments.
