Ondo Finance’s Total Value Locked Surpasses $4 Billion, with Over 1 Million Holders

The tokenization of real-world assets continues to gain momentum, and Ondo Finance is one of the most closely watched platforms in the sector. According to Foresight News, Ondo Finance officially announced that the platform’s total value locked has surpassed $4 billion. Its assets span tokenized Treasuries, stocks, ETFs, portfolios, and private markets. Tokenized stocks and ETFs account for more than $1.3 billion, and the platform’s products have more than 1 million holders in total. The project attributes this growth to an innovative trading model: Ondo Stocks taps into the liquidity of traditional financial exchanges through a request-for-quote mechanism and supports permissionless transfers on Solana, Ethereum, and BNB Chain.

The $4 billion figure is not driven by a single product. In July this year, Ondo launched a tokenized stock offering that complies with the U.S. SEC’s third-party custody model. Its initial assets included BlackRock’s IVV ETF and Micron stock. The underlying securities remain within the traditional custody chain, while transfer agent Oasis Pro mints tokenized interests on Ethereum on a one-to-one basis. Broadridge provides proxy voting and shareholder communications, giving token holders the same governance rights as investors holding assets in traditional brokerage accounts. This compliant framework laid the groundwork for subsequent expansion. Earlier, Ondo Global Markets became the first tokenized stock and ETF platform to reach $1 billion in total value locked, doing so in less than eight months. The company says it holds more than 70% of the market in this segment, with cumulative trading volume exceeding $18 billion. The increase in stock-related assets from $1 billion to $1.3 billion suggests they are becoming a new growth engine.

The impact on crypto markets can be viewed through four channels. First, multichain deployment is driving on-chain activity and settlement demand on Solana, BNB Chain, and Ethereum. Second, by connecting to traditional exchange liquidity through its request-for-quote mechanism, the platform gives crypto wallet users more direct access to U.S. stocks and ETFs, allowing the two liquidity systems to begin channeling users to one another. Third, Citigroup previously forecast that the tokenized securities market could reach $5.5 trillion by 2030, and Ondo’s figures provide a real-world example supporting that narrative. Fourth, if the SEC’s third-party custody model becomes more firmly established, more issuers and intermediaries may adopt the same approach.

Facts should be distinguished from speculation. The $4 billion in total value locked, $1.3 billion in stocks and ETFs, and 1 million holders are figures reported by the project and covered by the media. Some can be verified on-chain, but it remains worth checking whether the methodology includes private-market valuations. Growth in total value locked does not necessarily correlate with token prices, and short-term sentiment may diverge from fundamentals. Ondo’s tokenized stock products were previously unavailable to U.S. investors, making the pace of regulatory progress a key variable going forward. In the editor’s view, competition in tokenization is shifting from whether assets can be issued to whether platforms can provide comprehensive governance rights and deep liquidity. Ondo is currently well positioned, but the entry of Robinhood, DTCC, and major exchanges will continue to raise the competitive bar.
