The supply has increased from 92.63 million to 238.89 million tokens. Is your first reaction, seeing that, “I've been diluted”?
But with $ORN converting to $LUMIA, what really matters isn't the increase in total supply, but who gets the newly issued tokens and how long it takes for them to enter the market.
According to the official disclosure, all 146.26 million newly issued tokens will go to the community, with no additional allocation for the team. The tokens will be held at a publicly visible address. For holders, this at least answers one key question: the new issuance is not going directly into the team's hands.
Of these, 50.21% will be used for node rewards and is planned to be gradually released over 20 years to slow the pace at which tokens enter the market. About 70% of nodes have currently committed to locking their tokens for 12 to 24 months, but the final figures have not yet been announced.
The remaining 49.79% will be used for community airdrops, grants, and ecosystem incentives for L2 and Lumia Stream. The first governance proposal is planned to introduce a Lumia HODLer airdrop to reward users who hold ORN long-term. The specific rules have yet to be announced.
This design does not mean there are no risks. Community incentives will eventually add to the circulating supply. A 20-year release schedule only extends the timeline; it does not eliminate potential selling pressure. Going forward, the key metrics to watch are the token swap ratio, the actual unlock schedule, the final figures for tokens locked by nodes, and the scope of the airdrop.
For now, don’t jump to conclusions based solely on the “increase in total supply.” Add the official token swap details and publicly disclosed on-chain addresses to your watchlist, then reassess once the key rules are finalized.
