When the Cancun upgrade went live, the target was 3 blobs per block, with a maximum of 6. The Pectra upgrade in May 2025 raised that to a target of 6 and a maximum of 9.
The Fusaka upgrade in December 2025 introduced PeerDAS, allowing nodes to check only a sample of blob data. The blob limit has been raised further since then.
Thereโs no test after todayโs lesson, but the market can quiz you at any time.
When Layer 2 networks write blob data to the mainnet, the blob fees are also settled in $ETH . Currently: 2370.89.
