Musk Says SpaceX Could Be Worth Over $100 Trillion Within a Decade—Unless World War Breaks Out
Billionaire American investor Ron Baron, founder of Baron Capital, predicts that SpaceX could reach a market value of $50 trillion within a decade. But the company’s CEO, Elon Musk, thinks even that valuation is too conservative.
On Tuesday, local time, a user shared a video on social media platform X of Baron speaking at an event. In the video, Baron said SpaceX’s market value would eventually reach “$20 trillion, $30 trillion, even $50 trillion,” and noted that Musk thought his valuation was “way too low.” The investor went on to stress that the company’s fundamentals were “very solid” and that his figures were not “made up out of thin air.”
Baron then expressed optimism about the Starlink business. “I think Starlink alone could be worth around $14 trillion to $15 trillion over the next 10 years,” Baron said, adding that the business was still in the “early stages” of growth.
He then praised Musk’s vision for “orbital data centers,” noting that building data centers on Earth was no longer viable and that this business would be “several times the size of Starlink itself.” Finally, Baron said he believed the investment could generate returns of at least 20 to 30 times.
Replying to the user’s post, Musk shared his own forecast for SpaceX. The billionaire said SpaceX would very likely be worth more than $100 trillion in less than a decade—“unless a world war breaks out.”
