$ETH has dropped to 2368, down another 2.86% in 24 hours, with $12.5B in trading volume. It hit a high of 2452 and a low of 2313. It looks pretty scary, but my take is straightforward: this is precisely when you should be least worried about a major coin. The people who should really be worried are those still chasing the AI narrative. First, on-chain data and price action are at odds. ETH plunged from 2452 to 2313, a swing of less than 6%, while trading volume reached $12.5 billion. What does that tell us? Selling pressure was absorbed decisively. This wasn't a slow decline caused by a lack of liquidity—there was money actively buying near 2313. Compare that with U.S. stocks: Nvidia sank on concerns about AI financing, Meta was hyped as a “discounted AI computing gateway,” and even asset managers like Federated Hermes were being touted as AI plays. The AI narrative has spilled over so far that even traditional asset managers aren't being spared. That's a classic sign of a bubble nearing its end. ETH, as the base settlement layer for decentralized computing, hasn't been swept up in this speculative frenzy. Its decline has been measured, suggesting that coins are changing hands, not that holders are capitulating. Second, the market's approach to valuing ETH is shifting from “following tech stocks” to “a standalone safe haven.” Concerns about financing in the U.S. AI sector are no small matter: when Nvidia falls, the whole chain trembles. But in this ETH drop, volume hasn't surged explosively, and the price hasn't broken below the previous low. If 2313 is tested repeatedly and holds, that would make it a firm short-term floor. Many people are fixating on the 2.86% drop and calling for a bear market, but they're overlooking one fact: turnover was extremely high in the 2452–2313 range. A real bear market is a low-volume grind downward, not high-volume volatility. High-volume volatility means disagreement, and disagreement means a change in direction is coming. I'm betting that direction is up. A quick jab: people who blindly sold all their ETH when they saw Nvidia fall are probably the same people who bought in when Meta was hyped as an AI gateway. Narratives change faster than candlesticks, and of course, so does the speed at which they lose money. Of course, my call depends on one condition: 2313 must not be decisively broken. If ETH sees heavy-volume selling over the next two days, breaks below 2313, and fails to recover, I'll admit I was wrong—the market will have voted with its feet. But until then, at 2368, I'm bullish. What do you think?
