🚨 ETH took nearly 60% of Bitcoin and Ethereum's liquidations. Here's the detail that matters.

CoinDesk's October 15 report, citing CoinGlass data, recorded roughly $483M in BTC and ETH futures liquidations over 24 hours.

ETH accounted for $286M.
BTC accounted for $197M.

Yet ETH's futures open interest was around $30B, compared with $52B for BTC.

Ethereum absorbed a disproportionate share of the forced closures despite having the smaller futures market.

There's another pressure point: US spot ETFs recorded $261M in Bitcoin outflows and $130M in Ethereum outflows on October 14.

These are different signals, not proof that ETF withdrawals caused the liquidations.

But together, they show why a market decline can accelerate when demand weakens and leveraged positions are forced to close.

The next question is whether spot demand stabilizes before leverage builds again.

Is ETH facing a temporary leverage flush, or a deeper demand problem?

Not financial advice.
