The pre-market outlook isn't particularly good either. We're still in a high-risk period... This may continue until the rate hike decision at the end of the month is finalized.

U.S. PPI rose 6.3% year over year in September, far exceeding expectations of 5.3%. The 1.3% month-over-month increase was the largest since March 2022.
Energy was the main driver. Goods prices rose 2.6% month over month, the biggest increase since records began in 2009. Gasoline alone surged 20.3%, accounting for half of the increase, while energy prices overall rose 10.8%, accounting for 80%. Brent crude $BZ is still above $105, keeping upward pressure on upstream costs.
It’s not just energy. Excluding food, energy, and trade services, core PPI rose 0.5% month over month and 5.0% year over year. CPI for the same month was only 3.7%, showing that higher costs have yet to be fully passed on to consumers. Bitcoin $BTC is also under pressure.
There are just two things to watch: whether oil prices can fall back below $105, and whether core PPI stays at 0.5% for a second consecutive month. Unless those two indicators turn around, pressure to raise interest rates will persist.
