Exchange spot markets are starting to look more and more like a “U.S. stock ETF shelf.”

On October 14, OKX announced the launch of Unified Tokenized Stocks. The first batch—xSHLD / xSQQQ / xTMF / xTSLL / xURNM / xUSO / xUVXY / xXBI and others—are spot pairs against $USDT, and began opening for trading in stages on October 15. They’re backed by Payward’s xStocks (Backed Assets), and can be deposited and withdrawn via $SOL and X Layer. They’re claimed to correspond 1:1 to the underlying assets held in custody, with 24/7 trading; outside U.S. market hours, prices are based on the closing price plus market estimates.

The product mechanics are clearly explained: you’re buying price exposure, not equity, and have no voting rights. Dividends are reinvested at the issuer level and reflected as small adjustments to your holdings. Grid and recurring-buy bots can also be used directly with these trading pairs. Not registered under the Securities Act of 1933; U.S. persons may not participate.

This is a separate track from our own OKXICE permissioned on-chain stocks and TradFi stock perpetuals: one brings multiple issuers together in a single order book, one operates in a compliant sandbox, and one offers perpetual exposure. A rapidly expanding product lineup doesn’t mean less risk; be especially careful not to treat leveraged or volatility-based exposure like “crypto spot” and charge in headfirst.

This is not investment advice.
