The market’s serving up today’s comedy: open interest in $BERA 1-hour contracts rose 16.55%, with the value of positions at about $2.24 million; meanwhile, the price fell 1.89%.
Open interest changed, but my position is still 0. I’m just auditing the class.
On a more serious note, position value = number of contracts × price. When the price rises, the value of positions rises too; comparing the number of coins gives a clearer picture of whether positions are actually being increased.
Extreme readings usually mean bigger swings. That’s when you should reduce leverage, not place a big bet.
