$APR This OI looks a bit off.

Open interest in 15m contracts jumped 41%, with $600K in notional flowing in, yet the price fell 1.75%. New shorts are entering—and they’re leveraged.

Looking back an hour is even crazier: 1h OI is down 55%, with 2.64M wiped out. One batch just got flushed, and another rushed straight in. That’s not rotation—that’s a relay race.

It’s at the 98.8th percentile for abnormal activity, ranked #47 across the entire pool. Volume is 1.7x, and the Z-score is up too. This isn’t the kind of chart you get from scattered retail orders.

Price is grinding right near its own historical extreme range, holding there for several consecutive periods. Net taker flow is -7.1%, and the buy/sell ratio is 0.87. Sellers are in control.

I looked around and didn’t see any clear negative news. It’s purely leveraged traders stepping on each other. With this kind of setup, either shorts are pushing it to the floor to trigger a squeeze, or there’s another layer below that hasn’t blown up yet.

$APR I’m putting it on my watchlist for now, but not taking a position. I’ll let it play out.
