Wholesale natural gas prices in Europe traded within a narrow range on Thursday, as updated weather models forecasting milder weather in the near term in western Europe eased immediate heating demand, bringing a rally that had lasted several sessions to a halt.
However, trading desks said futures remain anchored near four-year highs amid unusually low seasonal storage reserves, as well as escalating maritime attacks on energy infrastructure in the Middle East, preventing any substantial decline in prices.
