BlackRock CEO Fink said on CNBC: whether the U.S. economy is heading into recession now apparently depends on whether AI data centers get built—if construction stops, it’s recession. Moody’s ran the numbers: the U.S. will spend $700 billion on data centers alone this year, reaching a cumulative $2.4 trillion by 2030.
In the same breath, he also warned: U.S. national debt has ballooned from $8 trillion in 2000 to $40 trillion. “The government needs more and more credit, and bond auctions keep getting bigger.”
The surreal part: he’s talking recession, but his $65.6 billion in spot $BTC ETFs hasn’t budged.
So is this a genuine warning, or is he laying the groundwork for AI infrastructure and $BTC in advance? Pick a side in the comments.
