Hyperliquid ($HYPE ) founder Jeff Yan called on U.S. regulators to focus on platform operators rather than the blockchain itself.
In an interview with Bloomberg, he said regulation should apply at “the layer with control”: institutions operating trading markets on Hyperliquid should take responsibility for their own compliance, just like financial firms that use internet infrastructure. This would allow Wall Street institutions to build compliant trading businesses on top of it without requiring the blockchain itself to register as an exchange.
