$ARC Why bearish? ❓
1️⃣ Daily chart: A major crash has just happened; this is only an oversold bounce
1. Around October 14, the price plunged from 0.0665 to 0.02195, a drop of about 67%. 24-hour trading volume surged—a classic case of distribution at the highs followed by a panic sell-off.
2. It is now at 0.03878, above MA7 (0.0379) and MA25 (0.0341), but well below MA99 (0.0454). The medium- and long-term moving averages are still bearishly aligned.
3. The rebound is already up +32% and has run straight into the 0.038–0.040 zone, where previous support has turned into resistance (24-hour high: 0.04021).
2️⃣ Open interest: The rise is driven by “existing positions competing,” not fresh capital entering
1. The total value of open interest rose from 209M to 217.5M (+4%), while the total number of positions (yellow bars) jumped from 7.8M to 8.5M (+9%).
2. Position count rising faster than value means more people are opening positions, but each position is smaller. Retail traders are piling in to chase the rally, and leverage is building up. This structure is common near the end of a rebound and can easily get wiped out by a single wick.
3️⃣ Long/short ratio: Whales and retail traders are “betting against each other,” with retail catching falling knives
1. By open interest: The whale long/short ratio has risen from its low to ~62%, suggesting that smart money is adding long positions during the rebound.
2. By account count: The share of long accounts, however, has fallen steadily to ~15%, while short accounts account for 85%.
Simply put, whales are going long with large positions while retail traders are aggressively shorting with small ones—or, conversely, whales are distributing their long positions in batches to people chasing the rally. Either way, it points to “doubts about the rebound’s sustainability.”
4️⃣ Fundamentals don’t support chasing the rally
1. ARC is an AI Agent concept coin on Solana (AI Rig Complex). 90% of its supply was fully circulating at launch; there are 100 billion tokens, and its market cap is only about $29 million.
2. This crash was caused by capital flowing out of the AI sector as a whole (RSS3 and Blast also fell more than 50% over the same period). It wasn’t due to project-specific bad news, but there is also no project-specific positive news to support the price.
3. Technical signals: 4h Sell, 1d Strong Sell, 1w Strong Sell; the forecast model gives a baseline scenario of -17% over the next two weeks.
