On October 14, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts began issuing NFT-based authenticity credentials for court orders and hearing records, with the credentials registered on Avalanche C-Chain. Recipients (banks, government agencies, opposing courts, or counterparties) can verify within seconds whether a document was issued by the DIFC Courts and whether its contents have been altered; any tampering with a file causes verification to fail.

The system generates a cryptographic fingerprint for each electronic document and binds it to a non-transferable NFT credential recorded on-chain. Neither the original document nor confidential case information is put on-chain; the blockchain retains only verifiable proof of provenance and integrity. This arrangement addresses delays in authenticating judicial documents presented across borders. In particular, parties that choose DIFC jurisdiction but have no direct connection to the UAE can provide additional proof of provenance and integrity when presenting documents abroad. DIFC Courts’ notary services had previously recorded notarization transactions on Hedera; this time, court orders and hearing records are using the Avalanche C-Chain associated with $AVAX , designed and integrated with the existing document system by blockchain technology partner Deca4 Advisory. Ava Labs said the move enables key documents to be verified quickly in cross-border scenarios while keeping confidential content off-chain.
