$BTC Market sentiment thermometer: Fear & Greed Index at 53 (neutral), down 9 from yesterday.
A newbie’s burning question: Where does the Fear & Greed Index come from?
The index combines several types of data: price volatility, market momentum and trading volume, social media discussions, Bitcoin’s share of the total market cap, search trends, and more.
I personally use this index as background on market sentiment, but when it comes to actual trading, I still focus on my own positions and stop-losses.
A few indicators confirming one another is more reliable than looking at just one, but no matter how many signals there are, they still can’t provide a definitive answer.
