I love what's happening with Solana. Its level of development has been advancing by leaps and bounds.

🚀 BREAKING: SOLANA SCHEDULES ALPENGLOW UPGRADE FOR OCT 21 - 150ms FINALITY! 🚀
Solana's biggest upgrade in history is here!
Anza just confirmed Alpenglow goes live on mainnet-beta Wednesday, October 21 ∼14:50 UTC (Epoch 1064). This is after 18 months of work!
WHAT IS ALPENGLOW?
Replaces TowerBFT consensus used since 2020 with new Votor system. Validator votes move off-chain and combine into cryptographic certificates.
Finality drops from 12.8 seconds to just ∼150 milliseconds - near-instant immutable guarantee!
Activation plan: Network will use legacy voting for first 5,000 slots (∼15:00 UTC), then switch to Alpenglow approx 18 minutes later. $SOL currently near $108, market cap ∼$63.4B.
This upgrade targets 100x throughput optimization, enhanced security, and sub-second finality. Solana says reported transaction count will fall sharply as validator votes disappear from blocks - not a decline, just cleaner data.
Is $SOL about to become fastest chain ever? Are you ready for 150ms?
