Honestly, drink enough of any kind of liquor and it all tastes like piss.
A lot of people like “Maozi” (Moutai), but honestly, that first sip isn’t fundamentally any different from Laobaigan.
Wuliangye’s the same—it’s not even as good as Fenjiu that costs a few dozen yuan. The sorghum liquor from that island to the east goes down easier than Wuliangye, too.
With baijiu, the first sip is for trying something new. After that, you just grit your teeth and force it down while it burns your mouth.
Don’t even get me started on red wine. It’s so astringent and sour—it tastes like damn slop that’s been sitting around for ten days.
As someone who used to drink regularly, I think all kinds of liquor taste awful.
What actually tastes good is classic Coca-Cola. Anyone who says zero-sugar Coke tastes good is just a bunch of poseurs.
