At midday on October 15, CK Asset Holdings issued a statement in response to market rumors that Li Ka-shing had died. According to Odaily, the company said media outlets had reposted claims from mainland social media accounts that falsely attributed the report to Hong Kong's Ta Kung Pao and stated that Li, a senior adviser to CK Asset Holdings, had died. The company said the claim was untrue and strongly condemned the fabrication of the false news.
