$ETH has broken below a key level—could rate-cut expectations be shifting again?
Guys, ETH’s latest drop isn’t just a sign of technical weakness; macro expectations are also weighing on the market!
After the CPI figures came out last night, the market priced in a 56.3% chance that the Fed will leave rates unchanged in October, while the probability of a cumulative 25-basis-point rate hike rose to 43.7%. As interest rate expectations shift, sentiment toward risk assets naturally fluctuates too, and short-term traders are clearly becoming more cautious.

Looking at the chart, ETH plunged on heavy volume to 2314.27 and then quickly rebounded, but the rebound was limited. The price is now around 2361 and remains under pressure from the short-term moving averages. The first support zone to watch below is 2340–2314, while 2380–2390 is the near-term resistance zone for a rebound. For the uptrend to regain strength, the price needs to at least hold above this zone.

Trading outlook: The short-term bias remains bearish, but I wouldn’t recommend blindly chasing the drop. If the price rebounds into the resistance zone and comes under pressure, watch for shorting opportunities. If it breaks above 2390 on strong volume, be alert for a further rebound.
Don’t rush to call the bottom right now—first see how the price moves. After a sharp drop, the easiest way to get caught out is to chase the decline and get burned by a rebound, or try to buy the dip only to catch a falling knife.
