Have you noticed that AI-themed coins are becoming more and more common, but few projects can clearly explain where their value comes from?

One new framework worth discussing is that digital currencies associated with agents may eventually split into AI coins and Token coins. Note that this is only a conceptual projection; it does not mean that a unified standard already exists in the market.

The two types of coins settle two different kinds of accounts.

AI coins correspond to “labor compensation.”

When an agent, robot, or digital worker completes tasks such as writing code, creating designs, or analyzing data, it needs to be paid. Agents also need a common measure of value when exchanging skills with one another. AI coins can be thought of as wages and service fees in the machine economy.

Token coins represent “resource consumption.”

Each time an agent performs a task, it may consume model tokens. If 1K tokens is used as a unit of measurement, then 1M tokens can be recorded as 1,000 Token coins. It’s more like a data plan in the world of computing power than compensation for labor.

How is this distinction useful when analyzing the market?

Markets often lump AI, computing power, agents, and payments together into a single narrative, but they derive value from different sources: some earn fees from model calls, some supply computing power, some facilitate agent collaboration, and others have merely slapped an AI label on themselves.

When looking at related assets, it’s worth first asking: does it settle “machine labor,” or sell “model resources”? If neither, demand for the token may exist only at the narrative level.

In practice, you can use $BTC and $ETH to gauge overall risk appetite, then look at whether ecosystems such as $BNB have real agent applications, demand for model calls, and settlement use cases. The concept may come first, but trading should still wait for validation from products, users, and consumption data.

The next time you see an AI-themed coin, don’t rush to check its price gains. First, sort it into one of two categories: “labor settlement” or “resource consumption.”#AI币 #智能体 #CryptoMarket
