Kraken parent company Payward has announced its acquisition of Lithuania’s Saldo Bank for an undisclosed amount—the first time a crypto company has bought a European bank.
Once approved, European users will be able to deposit, borrow, and pay by card in a single app, and borrow money directly against their crypto without selling it: $BTC . An exchange turning into a bank is no longer just a concept. It’s simply waiting for regulators to give the green light in 2027.
