Midday Hot Topic | Inflation Reprices Risk Assets
CoinDesk reported on October 14 that U.S. CPI rose 3.7% year over year in September, above the 3.6% forecast; core CPI rose 0.3% month over month, also above expectations. My take: the shock is not just about the figures themselves; the market needs to reassess the interest-rate outlook, leaving high-volatility assets with a thinner valuation cushion.
This does not mean a rate hike is a foregone conclusion, nor does it mean BTC’s long-term thesis has failed. In the short term, watch whether the rebound can hold and whether trading volume picks up, rather than assuming an asset is cheap just because it has fallen. The biggest risk in trading on news is treating an expectation as a certainty.
