Circle’s USDC has become the first “significant” e-money token under the EU’s MiCA regulation—the first of 45 notified tokens to receive the designation.

Starting November 12, the EBA and France’s ACPR will jointly oversee it, with a direct focus on capital, reserves, liquidity, and redemption plans. Stablecoins are moving from “usable” to “systemically important.”

From a break-even perspective: the stronger the compliance credentials, the easier it is for dollar stablecoins to gain traction in Europe—but that doesn’t mean a short-term surge is coming.

Do you think this will boost USDC’s market share, or is it just more regulatory pressure?
Comment 1: Positive for market share
Comment 2: Negative for short-term speculation
Comment 3: Doesn’t affect me; I’ll keep using it
