Social Graph Ventures founder Jakub Rusiecki said on X that he has joined Colosseum as Principal. According to ChainCatcher, Rusiecki said he first met Clay Robbins in January 2024, when Colosseum was launching and preparing to raise its first fund.
Rusiecki said he has followed Clay Robbins, Matty Tay, and Nate Levine from the start and has watched the team turn Solana hackathons into a company incubation pipeline. He added that over the past year, both sides have often backed the same early-stage projects and have increasingly aligned on early investment decisions.
He also said most crypto venture capital is currently flowing into later-stage rounds, while the next wave of companies often starts with two-person teams and hackathon projects, usually before typical funds invest. Colosseum uses hackathons to attract developers, an accelerator to support founders from the idea stage, and a fund to continue backing breakout projects from the accelerator and other companies. Rusiecki said he will review hackathon submissions and plans to attend Breakpoint in London.
