Today, many traders are trying to anticipate how oil, Treasury bonds, and cryptocurrencies will react after the U.S. inflation report.
But I want to share my perspective as a trader.
📊 THE OFFICIAL DATA
The September 2026 CPI showed:
• Annual inflation: 3.7%. • Monthly inflation: 0.6%. • Gasoline: +9.1% monthly. • Energy: +5.2% monthly.

🛢️ WHAT DO I THINK ABOUT OIL AND BONDS?
Rising energy costs may continue to fuel inflationary pressure, but that doesn’t mean oil $BZ has to keep rising.
Something similar happens with Treasury bonds. Persistent inflation can raise interest rate expectations and put pressure on bond prices. That’s why I’d watch related instruments such as $TMF and $TBT .
However, a news event doesn’t guarantee the market’s direction.
🎯 MY PHILOSOPHY AS A FUTURES TRADER
I’ve always believed that a trader needs to trade using a method backed by statistics from their own results.
Markets are influenced by major participants, changes in liquidity, and unexpected events.
No technical indicator, fundamental analysis, or pattern can guarantee with 100% certainty which way the price will move.
That’s why, before risking capital, I believe it’s essential to understand the market, study its behavior, keep a record of trades, and gather enough data to evaluate a method.
WHAT WOULD I DO IN RESPONSE TO THIS NEWS?
I wouldn’t open a trade simply because the CPI was released.
I’d watch the price reaction, look for conditions I recognize, and wait for confirmation that aligns with my methodology.
If those conditions don’t appear, I prefer to wait.
THE MARKET IS NOT OBLIGATED TO FULFILL OUR PREDICTIONS.
Everything that goes up must come down, but not everything that goes down has to go up.
A method doesn’t eliminate uncertainty, but it allows us to make decisions based on statistics rather than emotions alone.
💬 NOW I’M ASKING YOU:
Do you trade based on economic news, or do you have a method backed by statistics?
Do you prefer to anticipate the market or wait for confirmation?
I’ll be reading your comments.
