10.15 Gold Trading Ideas
Last night, U.S. September CPI inflation data came in above expectations across the board. The inflation rebound was more hawkish than expected, weighing on gold. After facing resistance above 4,200 and moving lower, bearish pressure intensified once the data was released, with prices dipping to around 4,073 to form a bottom.
On the 1-hour chart, prices staged a corrective rebound after bottoming, gradually recovering and consolidating around 4,100 toward the close. With the bearish CPI impact priced in, the bearish momentum has been temporarily exhausted, and the market has shifted from a one-way decline to low-level consolidation and recovery.
Trading suggestion: Sell at 4,130–4,150; stop-loss above 4,160; targets: 4,100–4,080.
