【What Would Happen to the DeFi Ecosystem if AVAX Fell to $8?】

I’m not trying to scare you; it’s just something I’ve been thinking about.

AVAX is now struggling around $ 10. It’s down 93% from its high. You could say its valuation is low—and it certainly is. But a low valuation has never been a reason to buy on its own. What matters is whether it can really gain traction.

Something else has really caught my attention: AVAX’s trading volume suddenly surged to more than 5% of its market cap. Seasoned traders know what that means—the market is nearing a decisive move. Either major players are entering, or large investors are heading for the exits.

From a business perspective, AVAX is built on Avalanche, a blockchain whose core business is providing a high-performance public chain. Its competitors include Solana and Ethereum. The logic behind its survival is simple: Are enough people using it? Can real businesses thrive on-chain?

What happens if AVAX falls below the key support level of $ 9.58? I’ve watched many blockchains enter a death spiral: after breaking below a key level, validator rewards fall, nodes disappear, and security and speed decline. Then more users and capital leave. Once this cycle gets going, it’s hard to reverse.

On the other hand, if it can hold $ 9.58, consolidate around $ 10, and maintain its trading volume, it may simply be waiting for a catalyst.

My view on AVAX is this: it’s not junk, but at its current price, it’s not so cheap that you should buy without a second thought. It’s worth keeping an eye on at this level, but not worth rushing in with a large position.

Who would be affected? On-chain DeFi users, cross-chain businesses, AVAX miners, and developers across the Avalanche ecosystem—their livelihoods are all riding on this narrow price range.

Could this become interesting down the road? It’s possible. But whether it can really deliver remains to be seen.

Do you think AVAX can hold $ 9.58 this time, or will it break below and enter the next price range?
